Bloomays

Increased recruitment leads by 15%
Bloomays is a startup specializing in Tech recruitment, dedicated to making tech recruitment more efficient and enjoyable for candidates, recruiters, and companies.

Project summary

My role involved refining and enhancing the talent search tool used by Talent Account Managers (TAMs), enabling them to focus more on client support rather than spending excessive time on searches. I was also responsible for integrating an algorithm for presenting results to streamline the search process and boost productivity.

Problem statement

The internal search tool was inefficient, with a clunky interface, excessive filters, frequent bugs, and poor data presentation, challenging for Talent Account Managers to use effectively.

TAMs spent excessive time using external tools like LinkedIn for talent searches, detracting from their ability to support clients effectively.

Goal

🎯

Redefine and enhance the internal search tool to improve the productivity of TAMs by making the experience more intuitive and efficient.

Solution & Impact

👉

The tool redesign significantly improved TAM productivity and efficiency, contributing to a 15% rise in lead generation and a collective €3M revenue increase.

Qualitative research

The goal of the interviews was not to immediately look for solutions, but rather to deeply understand the TAMs' experience, their needs, and the main pain points.

Interviews questions

  • How would you describe your daily experience with the current recruitment tool?
  • Are there any features in the current tool that you find particularly useful or unnecessary?
  • Which tasks take the most time to complete with the current tool?
  • Do you have any suggestions for improvements or new features you would like to see implemented?
  • Are there any aspects of the tool that you find redundant or unnecessarily complicated?

Shadowing

To gain an even better understanding of the TAMs' experiences, I shadowed their daily interactions with the recruitment tool.

💡Key insight derived

Key insights reveal the main needs as: advanced Boolean filtering with "AND" and "OR" capabilities for precise searches, a cleaner and more intuitive interface for easier navigation, and improved system reliability to reduce disruptions and enhance workflow efficiency.

Aligning goals with user requirements

After gathering insightful feedback from Talent Account Managers (TAMs), we initiated an ideation phase with a whiteboarding session led by Loïc, the CTO, and Julien, the Product Owner. Together, we defined key problems, set objectives, and brainstormed solutions to refine and improve our recruitment platform.

Task flow

After Whiteboard session, I created a task flow to outline the processes for our talent search tool. These visuals help ensure that each step is clearly defined and effective before moving on to the detailed design phase.

Benchmark

The goal was not to reinvent the wheel but to be inspired by what was already working.

Sketching

Initially started with different versions of paper sketches which I then presented to be challenged and iterate accordingly.

Wireframing

Initially started with different versions of paper sketches which I presented to be challenged and iterate accordingly.

Design System & Style

This system was developed to ensure that all visual elements align seamlessly with the brand identity, while addressing the functional needs of our users.

Prototype & user testing

I created an interactive prototype based on our refined design principles. This prototype was crucial for testing the feasibility of the design concepts in a real-world environment and allowed us to identify potential improvements early in the development cycle.

👉 In the prototype testing phase, we engaged Talent Account Managers (TAMs) through both individual and group sessions to test the platform’s usability and functionality. Feedback was generally positive, with insights guiding targeted refinements to enhance the user experience for TAMs.

Key Takeaways

The project underscored the critical role of user-centric testing in focusing development on high-impact features, confirming the necessity of a functional and intuitive search tool before adding more complex functionalities like result matching. This approach not only meets immediate user needs but also lays a strong foundation for future enhancements to drive further productivity gains.

Results

  • Productivity Increase: Streamlined search functions boosted TAM efficiency.
  • Lead Generation: Achieved a 15% increase in lead generation.
  • Revenue Growth: Contributed to a €3M increase in overall revenue.
